A group of refugees arrive at a shelter in La Laguna, Norte de Santander. At 3000m altitude, the mist is savagely cold and the air thin. They have just walked 10 hours to get here and one man is suffering with trench foot. Early the next morning they head out again.

Here, the refugees are colloquially known as Caminantes - ‘walkers’.
